Mhmm it’s Monday night and I’m starving my ass off! Bryan, Andrew, and I are driving in the car headed to Turntable Lab and we’re thinking about what to eat…what’s in the area? Well there’s Canters right across the street from TTL, then there’s Antonio’s (mexican) off Melrose. Where to go, what to eat? Bryan isn’t feeling meaty slices of meat stuck between two pieces of bread, so I guess that leaves Antonio’s. We drive by the place and it’s closed, there goes that idea. WTFFFFF? A few weeks ago, Ana mentions a nice Peruvian restaurant called Mario’s. It’s on the border of Hollywood and Hancock Park. I remember being satisfied with my meal so we decide, Mario’s it is! You walk in and the first thing you smell is Chinese food. Does that sounds right? Chinese food in a Peruvian restaurant?! Looking at the dishes on everyone’s table you see somewhat of a resemblance between Asian and Latin, call it “fusion” if you will. Both times I’ve been here for dinner, the tables are always packed. I doubt this place is ever empty. After peering through the menu for a good almost 10 minutes, I decide on getting a pasta plate with chunks of asada, shrimp, onions and tomatoes and a glass of Horchata to quench my thirst. While we wait for our food, the waiter brings us a basket of warm, soft bread and a side of butter. Now the part of the story you’ve all been waiting for! How did it taste?
